FORAS meeting with Cork City Ownership

Representatives of the Board of Management of FORAS met with Dermot Usher and Chief Operating Officer Éanna Buckley at the latest quarterly meeting between the club and the Trust on Tuesday. The minutes of the meeting, approved by FORAS and the club, have been circulated to members by email this afternoon. At the Annual General Meeting of the Friends of the Rebel Army Society (FORAS) on Thursday night, members unanimously supported a motion calling on the Trust to issue a statement of concern surrounding the increase in ticket prices for Cork City FC’s men’s senior team. While our members appreciate that the club is not immune to rising costs, the level of increase has been disproportionate, and the manner with which the club has responded to legitimate apprehension has been of concern. Statement: Shamrock v Cork City Postponement

The Friends of the Rebel Army Society (FORAS) has called on the League of Ireland to review its processes for assessing pitch conditions after Cork City’s away fixture against Shamrock Rovers was postponed with just 35 minutes notice. Hundreds of travelling supporters incurred expense and spent hours travelling to Dublin, having been twice assured the fixture would go ahead. FORAS is calling on the League to explain how it issued a notice to supporters at 4pm ‘confirming’ the fixture would go ahead, only to call it off a little over an hour later.
