European club visit report

As part of the Clubs and Supporters for Better Governance in Football project, Cork City FC recently hosted visitors from Malmo FF and Schalke 04. Our visitors, Thomas Kirschner and Florian Hartmann from Schalke and Pierre Nordberg and Pontus Hansson from Malmo, met a variety of personnel from the club during their visit to discuss a range of ideas. Erasmus Project Open Session

As part of the club’s engagement in the Clubs and Supporters for Better Governance in Football project, an open session will take place in University College Cork this Thursday, the 6th from 7-8.30. Topics covered will include player pathways in education, Member engagement by Schalke 04’s Florian Hartmann, education structure at Malmo FF by Pontus Hansson, FORAS membership by Darren O’Keeffe, Updates on the European Project from acting CEO SD Europe Niamh O’Mahony Venue: LG51, which is the Pharmacy Building. Cork City FC to attend sustainable finance workshop

Cork City FC board members John Kennedy and Mike Derham and the club’s Business Development Manager, Lisa Fallon, are travelling to Malmo FF this weekend to take part in the second of three Erasmus + workshops. The two-day event in Sweden will focus on Sustainable Finance, a key issue at the heart of every football club. Cork City to attend Governance workshop

Cork City board members John Kennedy and Mike Derham will travel to Manchester next week to attend a two-day Football Governance workshop. The event is being organised as part of the ‘Clubs and Supporters for Better Governance in Football‘ project which is being co-ordinated by Supporters Direct Europe, and co-funded by the European Union‘s Erasmus + funding stream as well as Uefa.
