Reminder: FORAS General Meeting

A General Meeting of FORAS will take place this evening (Wednesday, September 25th) at the Metropole Hotel from 7pm sharp. Trustees will receive a number of updates, including: – Chairman Mick Ring’s Mid Year report – a Financial Update – a recap of the Improving Football Governance project (Niamh O’Mahony) – an update from the Infrastructure Group (Pat Lyons) before having a Q & A session with Stuart Ashton and CEO Tim Murphy. Project Update: FORAS story heard in Belgium

It has been a busy couple of weeks for the working group looking after the European Commission Improving Football Governance project on behalf of FORAS. Project Manager Niamh O’Mahony travelled to Antwerp last weekend, having been invited to speak at the project’s Belgian workshop. Representatives of Eskabee 1935 FC and Federation of Antwerp Supporters (Club) were joined by officials from Belgian Pro-League club OH Leuven and two national fans’ organisations, SFP and NSF, amongst others. FORAS to attend final project workshop in Belgium

The final workshop of the Improving Football Governance project will take place in Antwerp, Belgium this coming weekend. Project Manager Niamh O’Mahony has been invited to attend on behalf of FORAS and will recount the events that saw the supporters’ trust secure a place in League of Ireland football, securing the long-term future of Cork City FC in the process. She will also explain the role supporters have played at other League of Ireland clubs. FORAS to attend SFSU conference in Malmo

The story of FORAS and Cork City FC will be shared in Europe once again this coming weekend. Following on from speaking at the FASFE conference in Madrid in January, ‘Improving Football Governance’ project manager Niamh O’Mahony will travel to Malmo for an event being hosted by the Swedish Football Supporters Union (SFSU) this Saturday. Swedish project manager Lena Gustafson Wiberg attended the Irish conference in Cork last November and spoke to delegates about how the 50+1 rule operates in Sweden at the moment.
